Welcome
Welcome to Region 14's Joint Associations web site.
Region 14 is undergoing rapid change in the structure of brigades through greater population, housing, industry and transport. Given the above dynamic changes within the Area, Region 14 now is home to 7 integrated stations 46 volunteer stations and soon to be the home of one of CFA’s volunteer coastguard brigades.
The Joint Associations (Region 14 being the first in the State) ensures that everyone is treated fairly and acts on your behalf between the CFA, Brigade and State Councils, as an independent and impartial body.
The purpose of the VUFBA & VRFBA includes:
- To look after the welfare and efficiency of volunteers.
- To consider and bring to the notice of the Victorian Country Fire Authority all matters affecting the welfare and efficiency of members of Fire Brigades and Groups of Brigades (other than questions of discipline and promotion).
- To represent volunteers.
- To make representations to the Country Fire Authority, other statutory agencies and the State Government, in pursuance of the policies determined by the Association's body of management.
- To pursue policies.
- To actively pursue policies to improve fire prevention and suppression practices and the protection of life and property in the country area of Victoria.
- To support Brigades.
- To support any activity deemed appropriate for improving emergency service delivery by Fire Brigades and Groups of Brigades.
- To support Competition.
- To organise and encourage competitors among volunteer fire brigade members.
- To conduct communication forums.
- To hold or arrange meetings or conferences in order to determine the policies of the Associations from time to time and inform members and others on matters relating to the Association's purposes.
Committed to Rural & Urban Volunteers
The Associations have a total commitment to the CFA's urban and rural volunteer firefighters serving the community in a voluntary capacity. it has represented the interests of 1,200 urban and rural brigades, 143 groups, 10,000 urban volunteer firefighters and over 64,000 rural volunteer firefighters.
We are here to help with matters that effect you as a volunteer member and the Brigade in issues with the CFA.
In May 2008 the Association voted to have only one President and Secretary to represent all matters for both Associations, which is another step forward to one body to represent all Volunteers.
