Congratulations to Helen Kenny St Andrews Brigade receiving the National Emergency Medal, recognising efforts associated on and after Black Saturday.
Volunteer firefighters exposed to same risks as career firefighters, we seek same coverage for cancer related illnesses attributed to firefighting activities in line with the Federal "Fair Protection for Firefighters Bill"
Ongoing updates on moves to include volunteer firefighters in coverage for cancer related illneses attributed to fire fighting are and will be sent to your brigade delegates on a regular basis. Brigades are encouraged either to write or arrange a meeting with their local MP's to further pursue coverage for volunteer firefighters.
Volunteer Firefighter Paul Denham D13 appointed to CFA Board
Congratulations to Volunteer Firefighter, Boronia Fire Brigade Executive Chairman and D13 VFBV Executive Member in being appointed to the CFA Board. Hard work and perserverance in the area of volunteer firefighter issues pays off as Pauls efforts to represent volunteers at the highest level in CFA becomes a reality. We wish Paul all the very best in this very demanding role knowing his dedication to assist volunteers will always be to the fore.

"Clean Out Your Fire Shed"
Unwanted equipment laying idle in your fire shed can be re used, if you have any equipment not being used in your fire shed, we have homes with other brigades for this equipment, particularily isolated brigades in the North of Victoria
Thanks to Yarra Glen for donating, a godiva pump gone to the Huntley training ground, and portable pump gone to Yarawonga brigade, Ferntree Gully donating a dunlite generator to Merringa brigade
