National Emergency Volunteer Support Fund
Advice from Emergency Management Australia has been received that due to the disruptions and high workloads associated with the Victorian fires during February into early March, the deadline for Brigades and Groups wishing to submit an application for a grant under this scheme has been extended to 31st March 2009.
The Australian Government is offering funding in 2009/10 through the National Volunteer Support Fund for projects which specifically address the recruitment, retention and training of volunteers. The Fund is managed by Emergency Management Australia (EMA), a Division within the Federal Attorney-General's Department.
Applications are invited from late November 2008 and with this extension, will be accepted up to 31st March 2009. Application forms can be downloaded from the EMA website ( see the link provided).
Applications from CFA Brigades and Groups should be directed to their respective Area General Manager for collation and forwarding to CFA for prioritisation and submission.
