Issues of Interest - Detailed View

VFBV Submission to: The River Red Gum Forest Investigation

VFBV on behalf of CFA volunteers has written to CEO – Joan Phillips of the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council regarding concerns raised out of the River Red Gum Forest Investigation.

VFBV has raised concerns regarding a number of specific aspects of the recommendations that potentially will impact on the safety and sustainability of communities adjoining the river red gum forests i.e:

  • Access and egress
  • Fuel management
  • Land management and agency resources
  • CFA resources and community impacts
  • Cessation of grazing
  • Campfires

With the above concerns in mind, VFBV made a number of recommendations relating to these aspects of the management of river red gum forests. A full copy of the submission will be available shortly for your information.
