Position Vacant - Executive Officer (Association Secretary) - Position Re-advertised
The Victorian Urban Fire Brigades Association (VUFBA) in conjunction with Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) seek applications from CFA volunteers for the position of Secretary, VUFBA. This position also has a dual role of Executive Officer, VFBV.
The position of VUFBA Secretary is responsible for the overall management of the VUFBA's activities including administration, finance, Championships plus many other functions, as well as management of the VUFBA’s Welfare Fund.
Considerable liaison with CFA at the Executive level, brigades and Regional Councils and attendance at VUFBA, VFBV and CFA committees is also involved.
The role of Executive Officer with VFBV involves working in a team environment to address issues impacting on all volunteers, representing VFBV on committees and working parties and project work as appropriate.
With the move towards the amalgamation of the two Associations under Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria, it is envisaged that there will be some changes to the duties of this position when the amalgamation is achieved, however, it is desirable that applicants have an understanding and appreciation of issues relevant to urban brigades and volunteerism in general.
This is a permanent position. Flexible working hours are available to cater for occasional weekend and evening work required to facilitate Association meetings and meetings with volunteers.
The salary range is between $55,000 and $70,000 pa and an appropriate salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on skills and experience.
