Position Vacant - Secretary
The Victorian Urban Fire Brigades Association (VUFBA) in conjunction with Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) seek applications for the position of Secretary, VUFBA. This position also has a dual role of Executive Officer, VFBV.
The position of VUFBA Secretary is responsible for the overall management of the VUFBA's activities including administration, finance, Championships plus many other functions, as well as management of the VUFBA’s Welfare Fund.
Considerable liaison with CFA at the Executive level, brigades and Regional Councils and attendance at VUFBA, VFBV and CFA committees is also involved.
The role of Executive Officer with VFBV involves working in a team environment to address issues impacting on all volunteers, representing VFBV on committees and working parties and project work as appropriate.
With the move towards the amalgamation of the two Associations under Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria, it is envisaged that there will be some changes to the duties of this position when the amalgamation is achieved, however, it is desirable that applicants have an understanding and appreciation of issues relevant to urban brigades and volunteerism in general.
An appropriate salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant. This is a full time position and will require flexible working hours and a strong commitment to evening and weekend work and travel across Victoria.
